Let’s Just Make a Wallet {DIY Story}

I am in the mood for a new wallet but I really need to be saving for the house.  Twenty dollars can be used for gas or groceries.

So, I’m not best at sewing but I enjoy doing it from time to time.  To be honest, anything that I make from Pinterest turns out to be crap.

When I sew, I typically don’t use a pattern because I hate having a piece of paper telling me what to do!

All I did was go on Pinterest and search for a couple of wallet patterns and free handed the whole project.  The wallet didn’t turn out AMAZING but it is workable and does what it needs to do.

Here are the results:

{Yogi Gear} DIY

So I have been practicing yoga for about a year and a half and it is the best thing the universe introduce me to.  It is a beautiful balance of zen and fitness.  Yoga truly helps the soul!

Well I am obsessed with yoga gear! I love going into stores and checking out all of their cute shirts.  The problem is that they are SO EXPENSIVE!  Why yummy cute clothes? Why do you have to be $40 a shirt?  I understand that they are made out of organic cotton and have special ink imported from India to make these shirts but this little lady needs to stay within a budget.

So what do I do? I make my own!

Believe it or not, it was super easy!

Just go onto Pinterest and search “DIY Tank Tops.”

There are many different styles, so choose which one that you think will look great for your body structure.

I bought my shirt at Target on sale! It only cost me $5.95 (plus 5% off with my Red Card)!

While I was out shopping, I stopped by Jo-Ann fabric to pick up a package of fabric adhesive paper.  Make sure it says machine wash! They are always offering 40% off on one regular price item!

Then I followed the directions to make my shirt and placed my favorite design on the shirt to make it my own!

Here are the results!

Happy Yoga! May the new shirt bring you to a place of piece because you didn’t spend $40 on a shirt 🙂

The Weather Is Acting Like a Preteen…Doesn’t Know What It Wants To Do!

So I don’t have a lot of room to complain because I live in Florida.  Due to the crazy winter from up north, we are experiencing very fickle weather.

Here’s my tip for a cute outfit for when the weather decides to be a preteen!

Here, I got a simple top from Forever 21! It’s a light sweater that will keep you warm but not over heat you if the sun decides to come out to play.  Keep the pants tight but stretchy.  I paired the top with a Michael Kors pants.

Here comes the thrify part!

I got the MK pants at Plato’s Closet for $19! The best part was that the tag was still on them (also they were a gift for dog sitting Zoey)!!

This outfit might seem a little simple, but hold on… there’s more! This is where you can get a little funky! SHOES!

Speaking of Zoey, she decided to do a little cameo during this shoot.  I love her but not all dogs are photogenic.  I hope this gives you a MAJOR laugh and also inspires you.

Challenge: #GGRENEW; Katie’s Birthday!

YAY! It is Katie’s birthday! Happy birthday kitty cat!

So here is the back story.  I was Katie’s intern at 93.3 FLZ two summers ago and ever since then, we have been amazing friends.  I pretty much owe this girl everything because I wouldn’t be who I am with out her.  She basically taught me to not take disrespect from anyone.  Thanks girl!!!

It’s her birthday and we planned to go out for sushi.  YUM!

During the day, I did not go to any classes because today was my rest and cheat day.  That probably wasn’t the greatest idea to do both on the same day.  Good job Mandy Nicole. That’s okay because when Monday comes, I will go hard again! I promise this is not an excuse.

Anyways, we go out for some yummy sushi and of course there was CAKE! I ate it.  It was SO good.  You know what, I am so happy that I ate it because I am not craving any sweets! It’s all about moderation.

Now that I justified my cheat and rest day, lets talk about the outfit.

I took the challenge of not buying a new outfit.  Why? Because I have some cute clothing items that I thought could be put together (also, I sort of bought a new bathing suit top for the weekend extravaganza).  This was before I started this blog! See …I’m changing.

Ok, about this outfit.  I have to say, I felt pretty confident in it and when you have that certain feeling, it usually means you are going to have a good night. And that it was …a good night! Katiesbirthday
