Save On Your Favorite Exercise Class! April Fools! Just Kidding, it’s real!

So do you remember how I told you that I attend yoga, cycling classes and boot camp? It sounds expensive but in all honestly there are ways to get your work out in without killing over over spending.  An extra bonus is that the local companies will love you even more!

Here is my trick, making Groupon my best friend for gossip!

Let me explain!

So Groupon is a website where you are able to buy discounted goods and services.  Companies pay Groupon for marketing purposes.  That’s the thing, companies are PAYING to get your attention by making their items cheaper.  This is really good for up and coming business but in the long run it can hurt.  Well why should I care?

In my opinion, I believe that it is important to support local places especially companies that offer exercising classes.  I personally don’t like the gym and in all honestly, you will most likely build friendships and communities by attending a class.  Besides that, these fitness companies have so much to offer and just need your love for their services to spread the word about them.

So majority of the time, companies that offer fitness classes rather have you buy the services through them.

This is my tip:

Take the time to look at Groupon and see what services are offered.  Go to the actual place and ask if they rather have you pay through them or Groupon.  You are guarantee to get a deal because if you have the app on your phone, you can just purchase it right then and there if they say no.  It helps them as a company and you are paying less than just being a walk-in.

Food Trucks and More

It happened! After three weeks of working out and eating healthy… I cheated! I think it’s healthy to cheat once and a while but honestly, I feel really guilty. THAT’S GOOD! This experience showed me that getting my health back is not a fad but I developed a habit!
I have to show you all the yummy goodness I ate at the food truck show!
Today, I went with my lovely mommy. We walked about for a bit trying to pick the best trucks. We found some interesting ones and very fancy trucks. Our favorite was The Cheesery! They serve our favorite combination! Cheese and bread! It was YUMMY! The only thing was that the grilled cheeses were rich. This helped me have some self control. I had half of a sandwich but I was very satisfied. HAPPIES!
We also got Crepes. That was something to die for. Think of a savory and sweet strawberry cheesecake in a crepe. THE BEST!
Enjoy a cheat day once and a while but you might be surprised that it might take more work to enjoy yummy bad foods. If you feel the way I do… Welcome to having a healthy lifestyle.

How to Make a Meal Only 200-250 Calories…Wait What?

“Wait a minute Mandy Nicole, how?”

When I first started boot camp, the manager and I started talking about my diet and how awful it was.  She suggested to eat plenty of meat and vegetables.  That’s cool but I am a pescetarian (meaning I only eat fish and veggies).  She told me then eat plenty of fish and vegetables.

I don’t know how it is around your town but at my local grocery store, it can get a little pricy buying fish.  The manager suggested to purchase Atkins meal bars.

At first, I had my reservations because I thought the bars are known to taste like cardboard, too expensive and they weren’t filling enough.  BOY was I wrong!

An Atkins bar can have up to 200-250 calories and are very filling. Did I mention that chocolate lovers will absolutely love these bars!

Okay, let’s have a conversation about price.  That’s why I never bought these yummy goodness bars because I thought it would be too expensive. At my grocery store, a package of five bars is about $7.99.

Think about it, $7.99 for five bars which makes them come out to $1.60 each.  If you replace a meal with a bar, that makes it a $1.60 a meal.  I replace my dinners for an Atkins because I am usually done with an exercise class and don’t want to be too full before going to bed.  That’s five days of dinner you don’t have to worry about cooking for.

I personally like the Chocolate Chip Granola Bars.

I’M TURING 25 IN JULY AND I’M NOT GETTING YOUNGER!!

One thing I do not fond
is my weight.  Hey, I like carbs and eating out!

IT NEEDS TO STOP!

About a week ago, I bought a Groupon for Fit Body Boot Camp and was I surprised with my findings.

This place is pretty awesome because although I left depressed, the depression was used as a motivation to take my health back.  First I was asked to step on the scale.  I was not happy with that number but it wasn’t a surprised. I was filling myself with Starbucks lattes and their yummy sandwiches.  This lead to me gain 10 pounds in a month and a half! NOT GOOD! This lead my BMI to skyrocket! I was told if I reach a BMI of 40, I would be at risk of having a heart attack.  When I was born, I underwent heart surgery.  That’s why I had the reaction I did and grew a burning desire to change my life around.

I stated in the last post that my other goal is to loose weight.  I personally would like to loose around twenty pounds and keep it off!

But Mandy Nicole, eating healthy and buying exercise classes can be expensive and can that keep you from buying a house?

Trust me friend, I am well aware but there are some awesome tips I will be posting about how to budget your wallet  for your health and wellness.  If you don’t have your health, then there is no point of setting any goals for the future.  We have to start taking care of ourselves!

At the moment, I am attending cycling classes, yoga and boot camp.  It’s a lot of work but it is not hurting my wallet (thank goodness).  Stay tune for these helpful ideas.

Challenge: #GGRENEW; Katie’s Birthday!

YAY! It is Katie’s birthday! Happy birthday kitty cat!

So here is the back story.  I was Katie’s intern at 93.3 FLZ two summers ago and ever since then, we have been amazing friends.  I pretty much owe this girl everything because I wouldn’t be who I am with out her.  She basically taught me to not take disrespect from anyone.  Thanks girl!!!

It’s her birthday and we planned to go out for sushi.  YUM!

During the day, I did not go to any classes because today was my rest and cheat day.  That probably wasn’t the greatest idea to do both on the same day.  Good job Mandy Nicole. That’s okay because when Monday comes, I will go hard again! I promise this is not an excuse.

Anyways, we go out for some yummy sushi and of course there was CAKE! I ate it.  It was SO good.  You know what, I am so happy that I ate it because I am not craving any sweets! It’s all about moderation.

Now that I justified my cheat and rest day, lets talk about the outfit.

I took the challenge of not buying a new outfit.  Why? Because I have some cute clothing items that I thought could be put together (also, I sort of bought a new bathing suit top for the weekend extravaganza).  This was before I started this blog! See …I’m changing.

Ok, about this outfit.  I have to say, I felt pretty confident in it and when you have that certain feeling, it usually means you are going to have a good night. And that it was …a good night! Katiesbirthday
